Position Overview: The responsibility for this role is very wide ranged, thus requires thorough knowledge of various warehouse processes. As a forklift operator, you will have many roles including the relocation of products, quality inspections and ensuring the safety of yourself and all members of the team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Primarily assist with the movement of products from storage and preparing them for delivery to the next destination.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend daily shift huddles to remain fully aware of business needs.
- Ability to operate and understand the importance a RF scanner to accurately move product from one location to the next.
- Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations and storage areas.
- Obtains shipping orders and then identifies and transport requested product accordingly.
- Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery or required items.
- Inspects equipment on a daily basis, reporting any issues to immediate supervisor.
- Cooperatively and successfully work directly with area forklift lead to meet daily goals and objectives.
- General upkeep of work area.
- Inspect product to ensure quality to customer expectations.
- Assisting & providing coverage in areas of absences.
- Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor in discussing matters of importance.
- Adhere to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times.
- Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws and regulations and standards.
- Any other responsibilities or duties assigned by management.
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE
- Dependability - Work hard each day to ensure that equipment efficiency and customer satisfaction is of upmost importance. Arrive and depart in a timely manner and respectively observe the given break schedule.
- Pervious experience and solid knowledge of warehouse processes.
- Ability to occasionally work daily overtime and weekends when demands are high.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Positive attitude and driven team player.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes high stress environment for required hours.
- Excellent attention to detail for product quality and safety purposes.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Related experience preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to operate in a high heat environment.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Push and pull up to 80 pounds at a time.
