Motor Vehicle Mechanic/HVAC (EAGLE 2025-22717):
Bowhead seeksMotor Vehicle Mechanic/HVAC to join our team on a recently awarded contract at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen,MD. TheMotor Vehicle Mechanic/HVAC performs a combination of tasks to support departmental operations. Typical duties include rebuilding and repairing major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors.
Responsibilities
Essential functions will include:
+ Provides air conditioning/refrigeration maintenance and repair services.
+ Provides for correct operation of refrigerant dispensing and recovery equipment as well as proper record keeping in accordance with 40 CFR, Part 82 and applicable federal, state, and APG regulations and directives.
+ Repairs, rebuilds or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors.
+ Diagnoses the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required.
+ Replaces worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts.
+ Grinds and adjusts valves.
+ Rebuilds carburetors.
+ Overhauls transmissions.
+ Repairs fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ A high school diploma or equivalent is required in addition to at least two (2+) years’ of experience as a motor vehicle mechanic and HVAC repair technician.
+ Qualified and certified in accordance with Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician’s EPA Certification standards for the equipment and material being utilized.
+ Must possess a valid State issued CDL and be able to obtain/maintain a forklift license.
+ Basic to intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
+ Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
+ Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. Due to the location of this work, U.S. citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.
