Job Description

In this role, the Ignition Developer will develop robust, scalable, and modular solutions to meet both current and future system needs. They will leverage their expertise in Python, Java, and SQL to create custom scripts and integrations within Ignition, ensuring efficient data connections and optimal database performance. The role involves designing and building user-friendly interfaces using Ignition Perspective, collaborating with stakeholders to meet requirements and follow best practices, and providing documentation and training for smooth system adoption. Additionally, the individual will optimize platform features using Ignition, HiveMQ, and TimescaleDB, and build responsive front-end interfaces with HTML, CSS, and Java for industrial dashboards. They will write backend logic in Python and Java to process edge data and integrate systems, deploy and manage containerized applications with Kubernetes, and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. The role includes integrating industrial protocols (MQTT, OPC UA) and third-party APIs, ensuring the performance, security, and scalability of time-series data workflows, and collaborating with teams to innovate and solve complex manufacturing challenges.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience working as an Ignition developer on the Ignition Perspective platform

Proficiency in Python, Java and SQL for web development, scripting and data management.

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for UI development.

Strong understanding of scalable architectures and modular design principles.

Experience working in manufacturing or Operation Technology (OT) environment involving

Experience with MQTT and Ignition MQTT Modules

Proficiency in programming and configuring PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP, and Profibus

Consulting experience

Manufacturing or Industry 4.0 experience.

Familiarity with AWS IoT, Azure IoT, or similar platforms.

Knowledge of IIoT security practices.
