Position Title: MM&D Database Administration, Emerging Talent Intern
Hourly Rate: $19.00 (Undergraduate)
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:
The Department of Materials Management and Distribution is responsible for the administration and control of New York City Transit’s inventory assets. Inventory assets are the various materials and supplies that are used in daily operations throughout the system, whether for office work, maintenance shops or structural repairs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Review department database of repairable items
+ Conduct audit of list against open Purchase Orders
+ Contact vendors with open order validating material at vendor
+ Close items no longer at vendor
+ Update department database
+ Work with staff on outstanding Field Service Reports for warranty
+ Update warranty items in the database
+ Attend meetings concerning repair and return
PROJECTS:
+ The Repair and return database cleanup.
+ Contacting vendors for updated shipping information
+ Work on how to report missing material from the outlying storeroom locations back to the main warehouse.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
+ The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
+ The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
+ The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
+ Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA
+ Major(s) Preferred: Accounting, IT, Data Science, Business, or related field.
