    and may be used to fill vacancies which may occur in the GST BOCES Region

     

    Substitute cleaners are needed for all GST BOCES campuses to work on an on-call, as needed basis. This is an all year position. The shift is generally 3 p.m. - 11 p.m. with some flexibility.

    The following work activities are listed as examples only and in no event shall an employee be limited to only those examples listed here:

    + Dust, vacuum, sweep

    + Wash windows, walls, woodwork, water closets, tubs and bowls

    + Gather and dispose of refuse

    + Uses heavy mechanical equipment to strip, polish and was floors

    + May open and secure buildings

    + May varnish, shellac and polish furniture and brass

    + May tend the furnace

    + May be required to perform minor maintenance tasks such as unskilled painting or carpentry

    + May be required to replace lights, hang window shades and Venetian blinds

    + Perform all other duties as assigned

    Job Qualifications

    + New York State DMV driver’s license with experience driving a large van or commercial vehicle

    + Pleasant attitude; friendly; ability to work well with others

    + Ability to lift 50-100 pounds; good physical condition

    + Ability to follow routine and maintain delivery schedule

    + Dependability
