• Teacher; New Visions Human Services/Education

    Greater Southern Tier BOCES (Elmira, NY)


    Full-Time (1.0 FTE), 7-hour day, 10-month School Calendar Position

     

    + Position teaching the New Visions Human Services/Education course

    + Teaching the following ACE courses: Foundations of Personal Health, Introduction to Human Services, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Basic Life Support/CPR/AED, Helping Skills, Achievement Motivation, and Introduction to Sociology

    + Ability to work within a team, both in the counseling department and within New Visions

    + Relationship building with area employers within the human services field

    + Supervision of student internships and off-campus learning opportunities

    + Participate in program-building roadshows

    + Responsible for complying with state and federal regulations

    + Promote positive and cooperative working relationships

    + Collaborate with all related service and support personnel to provide an integrated program that addresses students’ individual academic, behavioral and emotional development

    + Keep abreast of changes and developments in the field by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications

    + Carry out all other duties as assigned

    Job Qualifications

    Valid NYS Teaching Certification

     

    + Experience teaching college courses preferred
