A boutique CPA firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit Manager to join our team. This leadership role will oversee the firm’s Small Business Management and Bookkeeping services, while also managing all firm audit engagements. Additionally, the Audit Manager will provide business advisement to the customer base and make recommendations on process improvements and course corrections. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, leadership ability, and excellent communication skills to ensure the highest level of service is maintained for both our clients and team.
Key Responsibilities:
Small Business Management & Bookkeeping Oversight:
+ Oversee and guide the bookkeeping and small business management services team, ensuring accurate financial records for client accounts.
+ Provide high-level review of client financial statements, general ledgers, payroll operations, and other financial reports prepared by the team.
+ Serve as a point of escalation for complex issues or client inquiries related to business management or bookkeeping functions.
Audit Engagements:
+ Lead and manage all internal and external audit engagements for the firm.
+ Oversee the audit process, including planning, risk assessment, testing, and final reporting.
+ Serve as a primary point of contact for clients during audits and ensure compliance with professional standards and deadlines.
+ Provide audit team members with mentorship, training, and technical guidance to uphold quality standards.
Leadership & Management:
+ Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of accounting and bookkeeping professionals.
+ Implement and maintain internal controls across the department to promote efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Collaborate with leadership to improve firm processes, assess technology solutions, and enhance client service delivery.
Client Communication:
+ Develop and maintain trusted relationships with clients by proactively addressing their accounting, audit, and business advisory needs.
+ Communicate complex financial information in an approachable, clear, and concise manner.
+ Identify and present opportunities to clients regarding financial improvements and long-term business strategies.

Requirements
Qualifications:
+ CPA certification (required).
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).
+ Minimum of 5+ years' experience in public accounting, including audit supervisory responsibilities.
+ Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks (required).
+ Proficiency in GAAP, audit compliance, and internal controls.
+ Demonstrated management experience, including mentoring staff and managing workloads.
+ Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders.
+ Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills:
+ Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
+ Experience working with small businesses across a broad spectrum of industries.
+ Familiarity with tax planning and consulting (a plus).
