Description
We are in search of a Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team located in Farmingdale, New York. As a Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing patient accounts, focusing on claim denials and aged receivables, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in medical billing processes.
Main Duties:
• Handle and resolve insurance claim denials in a timely manner
• Scrutinize and clean up backlog of claims, ensuring they are up-to-date
• Follow up on denied claims, investigating and rectifying any discrepancies
• Oversee and manage current claim processes for efficiency and accuracy
• Engage in medical collections, specifically focusing on old accounts receivable
• Maintain and update accurate customer credit records
• Process customer credit applications with precision and efficiency
• Monitor customer accounts regularly and take necessary actions when required.
Requirements
• At least 2 years of experience in medical billing and collections, demonstrating a solid understanding of the medical billing process.
• Hands-on experience in handling insurance and claim denials, with a proven track record of resolving such issues effectively.
• Proficiency in using medical billing software and other related computer applications.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling patient accounts, billing details, and financial records.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize, managing a large volume of patient accounts concurrently.
• Familiarity with medical terminologies, coding, and the healthcare industry's legal guidelines.
• A collaborative team player who can also work independently when required.
• A problem-solver with strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions based on data.
