    Job Description

    We're looking for a full-time Pre-Registration Patient Access Associate to join our Patient Access Services team. In this important role, you’ll help ensure patients are well-prepared for their scheduled healthcare services by providing accurate financial estimates and completing essential pre-registration steps. Your ability to communicate clearly and handle financial details with care will make a real impact on patient experience.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Review daily schedules to identify patients requiring pre-registration based on insurance type

    + Calculate and communicate estimated financial responsibilities for upcoming services

    + Combine current estimates with existing balances to determine total guarantor responsibility

    + Request payment over the phone for estimated charges and outstanding balances

    + Explain insurance coverage and patient financial responsibilities in a clear, supportive manner

    + Assist patients in understanding their payment and financing options

    + Work closely with billing and insurance verification teams to ensure accuracy

    + Provide patients with detailed appointment information and directions to service locations

    + Support the broader Patient Access Services Department as needed

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or GED required

    + Some college or a degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred

    + Understanding of medical terminology, insurance processes, and billing practices

    + Strong financial knowledge, including copays, deductibles, and coinsurance

    + Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills

    + Experience with electronic health records and hospital systems is a plus, specifically Epic

    Physical Requirements:

    + Long periods of sitting or standing

    + Frequent phone conversations discussing financial matters with patients
