Description
A well-established international company is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to join its corporate headquarters in Baltimore County. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and knowledgeable compliance professional to play a key role in a global supply chain operation.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and internal policies.
+ Oversee and manage import activities and documentation for goods and products entering the U.S.
+ Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies to streamline import processes.
+ Interpret and apply tariff and classification rules, including HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) and ECCN (Export Control Classification Number).
+ Identify and resolve compliance gaps across departments, improving efficiency and minimizing risk.
+ Advise cross-functional teams including procurement, regulatory, quality control, sales, and customer service on trade compliance requirements.
+ Stay current on changes in customs regulations, trade laws, and industry trends.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Law, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 5 years of direct international trade compliance experience, preferably in a global corporate environment.
+ Strong understanding of import regulations, customs clearance procedures, tariffs, HTS classification, and ECCN.
+ Hands-on experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders.
+ Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
+ Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of developing and improving compliance procedures.
