    Cognizant Technology Solutions is looking for a **Java Backend Support Lead** to join the team of IT professionals in a role. If you meet our background requirements and skills and are in search of an opportunity with these skills and expertise, here is the opportunity for you!

    Responsibilities:

    • Java Backend Lead to maintain survival critical backend services built using Java (Spring Boot, REST & SOAP Web Services) deployed in OpenShift and AWS.

    + Lead a team of support engineers to supervise and support the backend APIs.

    + Primary point of contact for customer concerns, critical production issues and built RCAs.

    + Solve & resolve issues related to application performance, availability, and reliability.

    + Coordinate with development, QA and infrastructure teams for RCA and permanent fixes

    + Implement monitoring and alerting strategies with Dynatrace & Splunk

    + Ensure accurate documentation of recurring issues, root causes and SOP.

    + Maintain SLA and critical metrics and ensure quick resolution of P1 & P2 incidents

    + Continuously improve support processes and promote automation where possible.

    + Work together with offshore team to provide Effective status reporting to cognizant and client leadership team.

    Required Qualifications

    • Spring Boot, REST & SOAP Webservices, AWS, Angular, GitHub, Junit, Jenkins & uDeploy, JBoss

    + Secondary Skills: OpenShift, Python, Splunk, Dynatrace, Terraform, Autosys, BPEL, WebSphere, Linux & Shell Scripting

    + Strong understanding of REST API Design and standard methodologies

    + Should be Familiar with GIT, CI/CD pipelines and containerization

    + Proven experience with AWS cloud Services, IAM and infrastructure-as-a-code concepts

    + Strong debugging, fixing and performance tuning skills

    • Familiarity with Observability and logging tools such as Dynatrace & Splunk

    Salary and Other Compensation:

    The annual salary for the position is between $63,000– $99,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

     

    This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
