Description We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will manage payroll processes, ensure compliance with regulations, and support employee compensation initiatives. This position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in payroll systems and contribute to the efficiency of financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all legal and organizational standards.

• Manage employee benefits programs, including 401k and RRSP administration.

• Utilize accounting software systems to streamline payroll operations and reporting.

• Handle payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

• Collaborate with HR and finance teams to align payroll practices with organizational policies.

• Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to management and external agencies.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and handle filings related to payroll.

• Support system upgrades and integrations for payroll tools, including ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian.

• Provide training and guidance to team members on payroll processes and software. Requirements • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems and payroll platforms like ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian.

• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and tax compliance.

• Experience managing employee benefits such as 401k and RRSP administration.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
