    We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an Automation Electrical Engineer in Fort Worth, TX to help support our Flooring business. Did you know Leggett & Platt Inc. is the largest manufacturer of carpet cushion and hard surface underlayment in the United States? Our Flooring businesses manufacture and distribute foam, rubber, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use. Our flooring underlayment products provide support, cushioning, and noise reduction under virtually any finished flooring material in your home or business. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

     

    This person must be well-organized, analytical, and highly motivated. To be successful in this role, this person must have excellent project management skills and strong Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)/Programming experience. This position will also support other branches across the United States with their engineering projects.

     

    So, what will you be doing as an Automation Electrical Engineer?

     

    • Analyze and understand the automation needs of the industry or client

    • Design, develop, and test PLC programs to meet those needs

    • Modify existing programs to enhance efficiency or to adapt to new requirements

    • Create and maintain detailed documentation of the PLC programs, including diagrams and flowcharts

    • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure the proper functioning of the PLC systems

    • Collaborate with other team members to integrate the PLC systems with other automation systems

    • Train and advise on the use and maintenance of the PLC systems

    • Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget

    To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

    • B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent

    • At least 7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

    • 3-5 years of PLC knowledge and background including PLC and graphic display programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Automation Direct, etc.)

    • Knowledge of power distribution, motor control centers, switchgear

    • Mechanical aptitude with AutoCAD experience

    • Excellent communication and organizational skills

    • 30-40% overnight travel

    Things we consider a plus:

    • Experience in chemical or polymers industry

    • CAD/CAM experience
