*The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy is conducting an open search for a Research Assistant Professor, Non-Tenure Track in the Center for Translational Medicine within the Department of Practice, Sciences, and Health Outcomes Research (P-SHOR).* The primary scope of the position is to conduct and support research study activities in the area of drug development in artificial intelligence, machine learning and statistical analysis. The position is a full-time, non-tenure-track, 12-month appointment based at the Baltimore, Maryland Campus. This position requires scholarly activity, teaching, service to the school, campus and the profession, and the ability to engage in the application of data analytics and approaches to research studies. *_SUPERVISORY CONTROLS_* This position is responsible to the Chair of the Department of Practice, Sciences, and Health Outcomes Research with research reporting responsibility to the Executive Director of the Center for Translational Medicine. *_ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS_* · Determine methods of artificial intelligence, machine learning or statistical analysis and apply techniques to drug development and regulatory decisions. Ensure validity and accuracy of data and compliance with quality control requirements. · Design quantitative research projects, analyze findings, develop conclusions, write reports, prepare presentations of relevant findings and conclusions. · Perform required data extraction through programming and report on progress of programs, studies, and/or projects. · Perform research based on AI/ML and pharmacometrics methodology. · Summarize and prepare manuscripts, presentations, and proposals by providing and presenting drug development information such as tables, charts, or graphs. · Develop and formulate best practices and protocols in data collection for analyzing and presenting data using AI/ML methodology. · Assist in training on matters related to artificial intelligence. · Perform additional duties as assigned. *_SCHOLARSHIP_* Engage in scholarly activity in areas of interest. Scholarly activity is defined broadly and includesresearch design studies data in the area of drug development in artificial intelligence, machine learning and statistical analysis. *_TEACHING_* Participation in instruction in artificial intelligence/machine learning and study design. *_SERVICE TO THE UNIVERSITY, SCHOOL, AND PUBLIC_* Participation in appropriate faculty activities (e.g., faculty assembly, department meetings, and faculty committees), professional organizations, and other endeavors is expected. *_MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS_* Doctorate in data science, statistics, pharmacometrics, engineering or field of study related to quantitative clinical research. *_KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES_* Experience with handling clinical data and analyses with hands-on programming experience is preferred*_._* Professional conduct in all dealings with students, faculty, or administration. Communications - Knowledge of communication and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform via written, oral, and visual media. Education - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum design principles, evidence-based teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and knowledge of measurement and assessment. Initiative - Willing and able to take on responsibilities and challenges. Leadership - Willing and able to lead; take charge and offer opinions and direction. Learning Strategies - Selecting and using instructional methods and procedures appropriate in the discipline family when learning or teaching new things. Strong interpersonal abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty. Monitoring - Monitoring/assessing curricula to make improvements or take corrective action.
