This is an exciting opportunity for a Principal Technology Services Olefin Specialist. The Principal TS provides technical support for a range of UOP technologies; Oleflex, MTJ (Methanol to Jet), ETJ (Ethanol to Jet), NEP (Naphtha to Ethane and Propane), ORU/NRU, SHP, MTBE/ETBE and other Olefin technologies.
Our customers are both external (licensee/operating companies, Engineering Procurement & Construction ("EPC") contractors, vendors and consultants) and internal (Field Services, Regional Services, R&D, Engineering, Business groups, and Sales organization). An average level of travel of 10-20% is typically required to both domestic and international sites. Much of this travel can be scheduled and planned. Physical inspection requiring climbing up, crawling through and walking on pressure vessels, distillation columns, tanks, and piping at commercial sites is sometimes part of the job.
The primary accountability of the position is to support existing and upcoming Oleflex units and work closely with R&D, Engineering and our customers in deployment of new technologies viz. MTJ, ETJ and NEP. It is critical to complete the transfer of our technology to deliver to our customers' UOP-licensed or UOP-designed units that operate optimally, profitably, and safely. In addition, there may be the opportunity to work with other Olefin technologies depending on customer demand.
The position provides interaction with all the UOP departments involved with technology delivery, e.g.; R&D, Sales/Sales Support, and Engineering. The interaction with other UOP departments provides excellent exposure as well as providing knowledge of accountabilities in other areas.
Job Responsibilities:
-Serve as the focal point for office-based support of new unit and revamped unit startups from pre-commissioning through guaranteed acceptance.
-Development of procedures, training materials, GOM’s, etc in support of commercialization of new technologies
-Champion changes & improvements in technologies supported via innovation.
-Provide sales support for new units and revamp projects.
-Assist in rectifying guarantee resolution problems by participating in problem investigation and development of solutions.
-Participate in NPI technology development projects such as MTJ, ETJ and NEP.
-Participate in customer meetings.
-Participate in Engineering review meetings for new units and revamps including Design Basis, PFD, P&ID, MFD, Plot Plans, HAZOP, Model Reviews, and others.
-Review, analyze and provide feedback on commercial unit operating data and other commercial information/experience that leads to improvements in UOP Technology.
-Provide both office-based and on-site troubleshooting assistance to commercial units.
-Mentor FOS Advisors. Support Connected initiatives and implementation.
-Keep current with customer needs for technologies supported, communicate changes, and incorporate relevant changes into appropriate documents.
YOU MUST HAVE
-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
-10+ years of industry experience primarily in Olefins technology
-Experience in process operations, technical service, and engineering design

The annual base salary range for this position is $145,000-181,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. This position is incentive plan eligible.
