This is a full-time, 9-month, on-campus, non-tenure track appointment at the Assistant Teaching Professor level with 80% teaching and 20% service work distribution in the Department of Nursing. This position is expected to teach 24 credit hours per academic year and includes responsibilities in the undergraduate programs; advise students; and conduct classroom, clinical, and online teaching. Faculty also participate in both internal and external professional service activities and demonstrate collaborative interests and collegiality in all aspects of faculty engagement. The position includes classroom, online, laboratory/simulation, and clinical teaching with lead responsibility for the public health nursing and health promotion courses. In addition to the 9-month academic year, the faculty has an opportunity to teach these courses during the summer session for additional compensation.

**Salary** **Range** : $64,000 - $67,000 per academic year. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.
This position is **Exempt** from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary
Full time position at a rank commensurate to educational experience. Responsible for a clinical course that includes a didactic component and supervised clinical experiences for students. Assumes primary responsibility for didactic theory portion of the course and in collaboration with the Clinical Placement Coordinator facilitates selection, orientation, and evaluation of clinical instructors.
The Lead Faculty works with members of the Department and appointed instructors to facilitate course objectives, curriculum objectives and program outcome evaluation. It is expected that lead faculty will perform the duties and responsibilities necessary for successful course implementation in a timely fashion and in a way that is consistent with the College Statement of Professional Behavior.
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Leadership:
+ Plans and develops course syllabus, class, and clinical schedules.
+ Participates as member of the department representing the course and assigned content areas.
+ Collaborates with the Clinical Practicum Coordinator for clinical learning experiences that reflect course and level objectives.
+ Supports clinical faculty members in the course by orienting them to their positions, holding regular team meetings, ensuring they have needed course materials, and mentoring.
+ Participates in the evaluation of course, curriculum, and program outcome evaluation (i.e. FCQ's, clinical site evaluations, Annual Course reports).
+ Visits clinical sites to assess/evaluate performance of clinical teachers.
+ Communicates with appropriate Option Coordinators to provide verbal and written documentation related to critical course and student issues.
+ Collaborates with the Clinical Placement Coordinator for recruitment, selection, and evaluation of clinical faculty.
+ Maintains lines of communication with department and college staff for effective course program implementation.
+ Implements University, college, and departmental policies as appropriate to the course.
Educator:
+ Participates in the identification of critical content and essential competencies for assigned course.
+ Takes primary responsibility for course content delivery using a variety of teaching-learning strategies.
+ Collaborates to facilitate team approach to course implementation.
+ Maintains oversight for course resources.
+ Consults with clinical faculty, information technologists, and others to ensure appropriate use of technology in the classroom and clinical settings.
+ Posts course grades in a timely manner consistent with university policy.
Consultant:
+ Serves as a consultant to the assigned clinical faculty on content, pedagogy, curriculum philosophy and implementation of a variety of teaching strategies.
+ Serves as a point of contact for clinical partners regarding course content, pedagogy, curriculum philosophy, and implementation of a variety of teaching strategies as needed.

Qualifications
+ To be considered for this role, you must hold a minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from a program with national accreditation.
+ Must have active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado, or ability to obtain by date of hire.
+ Must have two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing clinical experience related to public health nursing.
+ It's preferred that you have previous teaching experience in an undergraduate nursing program or adult learning environments.
+ It's preferred that you have previous experience with curriculum development and evaluation.
+ It's preferred that you have previous experience with conducting online teaching.
