SUMMARY:
The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care, usually under the direction of a Registered Nurse, in accordance with established plans. The Licensed Practical Nurse is a key member of the care delivery team. The Licensed Practical Nurse communicates the needs of the patient and the team; collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, takes direction from the RN and delegates appropriately to the other members of the team.
OUR UNIT:
Join our Emergency Department (ED), a dynamic unit with 11 medical beds and 6 psychiatric beds, providing urgent care for a wide range of patient needs, including medical, surgical, trauma, pediatric, orthopedic, psychiatric, and behavioral health concerns. We also occasionally care for OB/GYN and dental issues, making this a fast-paced and diverse environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make an impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Patient Care & Service - Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; perform various treatment procedures; provide physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervise assigned team members.
+ Medication Administration & Reporting - Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbal from/to appropriate staff as per departmental protocols.
+ Documentation - Ensure concise, pertinent and complete documentation using computerized medical record process.
+ Preparation - Ensure clinical areas are properly supplied and exam rooms are available and stocked.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing or equivalent required.
+ Current licensure in State of New York as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills highly desired.

EDUCATION:
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
