Schedule: Monday - Friday; Days, 8:00AM - 4:30PM or 9:00AM - 5:00PM
SUMMARY:
Peer Specialists are fully integrated team members who promote client self –determination and decision making. Provide essential expertise and consultation to the entire team to promote a culture where each client’s point of view is recognized, understood, respected and integrated into treatment rehabilitation and community self help activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Assist with the client’s participation in developing the Individualized Recovery Plan and help the client understand the diagnoses and plan components.
+ Carry out duties as a member of the team, under the direction of the Program Manager and/or Coordinator.
+ Must maintain client confidentiality in accordance with the RGHS policy.
+ Provide support and encouragement to help clients socialize, interact in a milieu setting and facilitate social activities groups within the milieu.
+ Assist consumers who have experienced social stigmatization with their sense of acceptance and affiliation.
+ Provide practical help and mentoring, advocacy, coordination, side-by-side individualized support, problem solving and direct assistance to help clients obtain the necessities of daily living.
+ Promote client self advocacy skills
+ Participate in staff meetings and treatment review meetings with PROS team, MD and NP.
+ Collaborate with the team to document consumer progress to maintain a permanent record of client activities according to the agency’s established methods and procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ New York State Certified Peer Specialist required

S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
