Job Title: EMC Test EngineerJob Description
The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer II performs regulatory compliance testing on third-party products according to established guidelines. The engineer ensures that work performed complies with the guidelines of the Quality Manual and ISO/IEC: 2005 standards.
Responsibilities
+ Engineer test programs from inception to completion within the guidelines provided by customer test plans and the scope of project quotations.
+ Support assigned customer projects through coordination, execution, communication, and documentation. This may include performing tests or coordinating the performance of tests with other qualified laboratory personnel, constructing test reports upon completion of test projects, coordinating the disposition of test products back to customers, and maintaining continuous communication of project status with customers for the duration of the project.
+ Execute multiple test programs based on comprehension of various domestic and international test standards, and interpret the applicability of diverse test criteria.
+ Assist customers with compliance issues, either through in-house EMC solutions or design consultation.
+ Assist with the development of various laboratory documentation, including project test reports, laboratory test procedures, technical papers, and training documents.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in EMC testing and working in a lab environment.
+ Knowledge of EMC, wireless, electronics, compliance, electrical, electrical engineering, and test engineering.
+ Experience with regulatory processes, specifically CE, FCC, IC, or equivalent EMC standards.
+ Familiarity and understanding of wireless technologies, specifically Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and LoRa.
+ Competency with test instrumentation including spectrum analyzers, antennas, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred; Associate's degree with significant experience in EMC testing will be considered.
Work Environment
The work environment includes a laboratory setting with the use of various testing equipment such as spectrum analyzers, antennas, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers. The role may involve coordinating with other qualified laboratory personnel and requires adherence to established safety standards. Dress code is business casual.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
