Details of Research Project:
You will participate in research studies aimed at understanding how microbes interact and traffic in the reproductive tract contributing to health and disease. Your main responsibilities in this research are to design, implement and execute high level research that serves to address the broad aims of the research outlined in the NIH sponsored research in Dr. Elovitz’s research laboratory. Specifically, your research is focused on the interaction of vaginal microbes with epithelial and immune cells, trafficking and functional impact of microbes and their by-products and investigating therapeutic strategies to targeting microbial-cellular interactions in the reproductive tract.
Qualifications
Educational and other Requirements for the position: PhD in molecular biology, microbiology, genetics, immunology or other relevant field
Experience Required: At least 4-6 years performing related research (during PhD)
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the ISMMS and the Sinai Postdoctoral Organizing Committee - UAW.

Responsibilities
Technical Duties:
+ Perform revelant non-pregnant and pregnant animal models including survival surgery
+ Execute various in vitro experimental models including but not limited to immune and epithelial cell lines and 2D and 3D models system
+ Analyze RNA sequencing data and other ‘omic analyses as required for project completion
Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project:
Perform and publish independent research investigating microbe-host interactions in the reproductive tract and their contribution to health and disease

Compensation Statement
Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
