    Job Title: Staff Accountant

    Job Description

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will assist in the execution of monthly closing procedures and manage daily activities within the cost accounting department. You will prepare monthly reports on cost of goods sold and operational expenses, providing insights and risk mitigation strategies. Additionally, you will maintain strict oversight of inventory and fixed assets, contribute to budget development, handle tax filings, and assist in annual inventory audits.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist in the execution of monthly closing procedures.

    + Manage daily activities within the cost accounting department.

    + Prepare monthly reports on cost of goods sold and operational expenses.

    + Provide insights and risk mitigation strategies.

    + Maintain strict oversight of inventory and fixed assets.

    + Prepare summaries and justifications for capital requests.

    + Contribute to the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.

    + Handle sales/use tax filings and prepare 1099 annual forms.

    + Prepare and assist in annual inventory audit.

    Essential Skills

    + General ledger management.

    + Month-end closing procedures.

    + Financial reporting and journal entry.

    + Cost analysis and financial statement preparation.

    + Experience with large ERP systems.

    + Reconciliation and financial analysis.

    + Budgeting and cost accounting.

    + 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing/steel industries.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree is a must.

    + CPA or MBA preferred.

    + 1-3 years experience in accounting

     

    Work Environment

     

    You will work at two different sites in the Milwaukee area.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
