    Job Title: Pipe Layer**

     

    Pay: $24-28/hour with opportunity for overtime

    Job Description

    As a Pipe Layer, you will be responsible for pre-fabricating pipes using ductile iron fittings, HDPE, slip joints, concrete pipe, and steel pipe. You must be safety-minded, adhere to all safety policies, and pass a test related to safe operation in trenches. Additionally, you should have knowledge of the tools and equipment necessary to perform the discipline and be trained in Trenching and Excavation safety.

    Responsibilities

    + Pre-fabricate pipes using various materials including ductile iron, HDPE, and steel.

    + Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

    + Pass a safety operation test related to trenching.

    + Use tools and equipment necessary for pipe laying.

    + Work with the backhoe operator to supervise the correct depth and grade for laying pipes.

    + Collaborate with pipe craft and civil crews to place pipes in ditches.

    + Correct pipes using slip joints, threaded joints, and bolting.

    + Perform all other duties as indicated by supervisors.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in pipe laying.

    + Ability to work with a backhoe operator to ensure correct depth and grade.

    + Experience with slip joints, threaded joints, and bolting.

    + Knowledge of tools and equipment necessary for pipe laying.

    + Training in Trenching and Excavation safety.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures.

    This position involves working outdoors in hot and cold temperatures from 7am to 5pm.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
