Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors. The ideal candidate will be proficient in electrically troubleshooting and using system diagnostics on trucks.

Responsibilities

+ As a dedicated mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors. This includes:

+ the ability to troubleshoot electrically and use system diagnoses on the trucks.

+ You will be expected to perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on various vehicles and equipment.

+ Your tasks also include performing FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles, ensuring quality preventive maintenance inspections, addressing all Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups timely and efficiently, diagnosing causes of malfunctions and performing repairs to manufacturer specifications.

+ You will also need to display proficiency in electrical meter testing, knowledge of controls and electric (DC low voltage), electric motor knowledge (DC), and complete electrical repairs and welding projects as needed.

Hard Skills

+ Ability to use a Volt meter to electrical diagnose and repair in the truck

+ PM's on the trucks and trailers

Essential Skills

+ 1-2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or in trailer repair

+ Ability to use a volt meter to diagnose and repair electrical issues in trucks

+ Experience in preventive maintenance, diagnostic testing, and truck repair

+ Proficiency in working with diesel engines, brakes, and transmissions

+ Valid driver's license

+ Knowledge of Federal DOT inspections

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ ASE Certification

+ Refrigeration (Reefer) experience

+ EPA Section 608 and 609 licenses

+ Technical schooling or certifications

+ CDL

+ Ability to understand Ohms and Amps

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $83200.00/yr.

Medical, vision and dental benefits - receive 1st of the month after 30 days of employment

3% deposit, 401K match - and matches .50 cents on the dollar

Holiday time -major Holidays - if they work during the major ones will receive floating holiday in replace that they can use.

Vacation time - Accumulates day 1, and eligible to use after 3 months. After one year of employment 2 years of vacation (might be able to get this time upfront if needed)

PTO time - 3 days a year given

Sick leave - give a certain amount of hours per year and carries over some techs have well into the hundreds of hours of sick time they can use

Paid weekly

125 boot allowance/voucher

Provide uniforms

600 a year tool allowance

This is a fully onsite position in Harrisburg,PA.
