    This is a **Contract-to-Hire** position based out of **Hauppauge, New York.**

     

    This position is **2nd Shift** , from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday.

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator and Material Handler to join our team. You will be responsible for operating forklifts, side loaders, and overhead cranes to move materials throughout the warehouse. This includes retrieving materials from inventory, verifying accuracy, constructing skids, and preparing products for delivery. Warehouse and forklift experience directly related to the duties of the position strongly preferred.

    Job Responsibilities

    + Safely operate forklifts, side loaders, and overhead cranes to move materials throughout the warehouse

    + Retrieve materials from inventory according to work instructions

    + Verify the accuracy of retrieved materials by measuring and comparing product information on tags to work orders

    + Construct skids and use shipping supplies to wrap and prepare products for delivery

    + Tag materials, verify products against work orders, and perform visual inspections

    + Safely load and unload materials from trucks using cranes, forklifts, and side loaders

    + Inspect inbound materials using measuring tools like tape measures and calipers

    + Prepare orders for shipment via common carriers, UPS, and customer pick-up

    + Expedite orders and process received and shipped materials in the system

    + Perform additional duties as instructed

    Essential Skills

    + Warehouse and forklift experience directly related to the duties of the position strongly preferred

    + Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles

    + Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 70 pounds

    + Ability to read and understand English

    + Team-oriented and dependable

    + High school diploma or equivalent preferred

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Forklift certification preferred

    + Experience with metal fabrication

    + Experience with material handling, inventory, picking, packing, and loading

    Work Environment

     

    This position is for the 2nd shift, from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday to Friday. Our facility is a 100,000 sq. ft. warehouse that is clean and open-spaced but not climate-controlled. You will be responsible for working both inside and outside to load and unload trucks in a fast-paced environment.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $23.20 - $25.50/hr.
