Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for utilizing a tape measure to accurately measure materials and operating a band saw to cut steel. You will ensure production speed is maintained and quality check that products are cut to specification. The role involves preparing, moving, cleaning, and cutting steel.

Responsibilities

+ Utilize a tape measure to properly measure material.

+ Operate a band saw to cut steel.

+ Maintain production speed and quality check products are cut to specification.

+ Prepare, move, clean, and cut steel.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with band saw machine operation.

+ Ability to read a tape measure.

+ Experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments.

+ Proficiency in using micrometers and calipers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous experience in a heavy industrial environment, particularly with steel.

+ Ability to stand for the entire duration of the shift.

Work Environment

The work environment is a manufacturing setting with large ceilings and open space, prioritizing safety. It can be hot in the summers and cold in the winters, but heat lamps provide comfort during colder months. Employees are required to wear steel toe boots, hard hats, and safety glasses at all times. Random drug tests are conducted for all employees to ensure a safe workplace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago Heights, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
