Job Title: Maintenance Technician - 2nd / 3rd Shift
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician with experience in plastic injection molding maintenance. This role involves working with the engineering and maintenance departments to repair, develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods. The position is for the 2nd shift team and requires troubleshooting and performing repairs on hydraulic and electric machines, robots, and secondary equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Repair and maintain all plant equipment, buildings, and grounds.
+ Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
+ Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
+ Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
+ Understand how robot programming works and make necessary adjustments.
+ Troubleshoot press and robot issues in conjunction with Process Technicians as needed.
+ Maintain records in compliance with quality procedures and equipment operating logs.
+ Complete preventive maintenance and update PM logbooks.
+ Follow safety standards and procedures according to OSHA and ANSI regulations.
+ Complete repairs on hydraulic systems, HVAC, conveyors, and pneumatic circuits.
+ Troubleshoot electrical issues, expert in wiring/re-wiring.
+ Develop and manufacture poke-yoke/alarm systems, where applicable.
+ Troubleshoot and repair failed machinery and control systems.
+ Troubleshoot and repair issues with automated equipment, including sensors, servo controls, power supplies, VFDs, I/O cards, relays, HMIs, load cells, etc.
+ Read and understand PLC ladder logic for troubleshooting and making minor program changes.
+ Identify maintenance concerns and issues and work to assist with the resolution of issues.
+ Assist with new product launches.
Essential Skills
+ 5-7+ years of Plastic Injection Maintenance Experience
+ Troubleshooting of mechanical and hydraulic systems
+ Troubleshooting electrical systems including sensors, limit switches, sequence machines, and 24V - 480V
+ Preventative Maintenance
+ Experience diagnosing and identifying problems on machinery and finding solutions
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ PLC Troubleshooting (Allen Bradley)
+ Robotic Troubleshooting (homing / EOA tooling) on Fanucs
+ Pneumatics & Schematic troubleshooting

Work Environment
The work environment involves loud machinery and is well lit. Steel toes and safety glasses are required. The machinery in the back is older, with plans for upgrades based on new business opportunities. The 2nd shift is from 2:30 pm - 11 pm, with 5-10 hours of overtime each week, Monday - Friday, with rare Saturday shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fraser, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
