Job Title: Packaging Line Worker

Job Description

The primary function of the Pack & Scan-Production position is to ensure the Work Centers and Assembly Areas continue to run without interruption by bringing appropriate packaging to the molding area and moving finished parts from the molding area to the Pack & Scan area.

Responsibilities

+ Work in a safe manner and follow all safety policies and procedures.

+ Assist with the setup of Work Centers/Assembly Areas by bringing all necessary hardware and packaging to the Work Centers/Assembly Areas prior to startup.

+ Ensure efficiency at all Work Centers and Assembly areas by pulling completed products from work centers and moving them to the pack & scan area where they can be properly banded and/or dispositioned in the warehouse.

+ Ensure proper labeling and scanning of products coming from Production prior to delivery to the Warehouse.

+ Follow all processes and make recommendations for improvement.

+ Review operation process to ensure continuous cost improvement.

+ Interact with your counterpart in operations to ensure efficient use of personnel during the manufacturing process.

+ Implement lean manufacturing principles such as 5S and workplace organization.

+ Ensure all items moved with a forklift are placed in the proper location and square to the building.

+ Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.

+ Ensure plant cleanliness and proper location of all items.

+ Empty trash and ensure recyclables are not placed in the trash at the end of each shift.

+ Perform cycle counts of inventory as requested by the Warehouse Manager.

+ Complete other tasks as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ A minimum of 2 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment operating a forklift.

+ Experience with the utilization of scanner equipment, including handling WIP, Finished Goods, and shipping responsibilities.

+ Strong organizational skills.

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.

+ Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry 50 lbs.

+ Ability to be trained to operate a forklift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Demonstrated experience with production part retrieval and lot number verification.

+ Experience with cycle counts and inventory management.

+ History of accurately documenting or scanning WIP and Finished Goods in and out of inventory.

+ Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.

+ Proven ability to work collaboratively to accomplish goals.

+ Knowledge of basic mathematics and the ability to apply it in a work situation.

+ Demonstrated computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and other applicable software programs.

Work Environment

Shift B and Shift D are available with the following schedules: Week 1: Shift A (M-W 6am-12:15pm, Thurs-F 6am-6:15pm), Shift B (M-W 12pm-6:15pm, Sat-Sun 6am-6:15pm, off Thurs and Fri), Shift C (M-W 6pm-12:15am, Sat-Sun 6pm-6:15am, off Thurs and Fri), Shift D (M-W 12am-6:15am, Sat-Sun 6pm-6:15am, off Thurs and Fri). Week 2: Shift A (M-W 6am-12:15pm, Sat-Sun 6am-6:15pm, off Thurs and Fri), Shift B (M-W 12pm-6:15pm, Thurs-F 6am-6:15pm), Shift C (M-W 6pm-12:15am, Sat-Sun 6pm-6:15am, off Thurs and Fri), Shift D (M-W 12am-6:15am, Sat-Sun 6pm-6:15am, off Thurs and Fri).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35360.00 - $35360.00/yr.
