Job Title: Production Technician

Job Description

The candidate will work in a clean room area for the manufacturing process, ensuring it remains comfortable, lint, and dust-free. However, other areas of the plant, including the warehouse and outdoor areas, are not climate-controlled. The candidate will maintain spare parts inventory and communicate all tools and parts needed for operations.

Responsibilities

+ Assist a Building Engineer and Lead Maintenance Manager in all associated tasks

+ Serve as a tool crib/inventory assistant

+ Follow PM plans set out by management and execute all PM tasks

+ Work closely with machine operators to learn equipment and production processes

+ Direct work and assist in troubleshooting

+ Plan and assist in minor repairs and troubleshooting HVAC, Boiler, or other machine issues

+ Work with outside vendors to fix complex issues in the plant

+ Perform service and repairs to all equipment

+ Conduct hazardous materials training and perform minor adjustments

+ Support plant operations during off-hour calls if needed

Essential Skills

+ Mechanical aptitude

+ Experience in mechanical functions ideally in a manufacturing facility or construction

+ Strong attention to detail

+ Ability to measure for quality purposes

+ Previous machine operation experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with slitter or saw operation

+ Ability to work overtime as assigned

Work Environment

Smaller facility with 32 employees, where there is a lot of tenure and no layoffs. The least tenured person has been there a year, while others have been there for nine years. Work in a cleanroom and general manufacturing environment. The warehouse is not temperature-controlled. The cleanroom is maintained at a comfortable 66 degrees. The work schedule is five days a week, day shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with possible overtime and on-call work in case of emergencies.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Chesterfield, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
