Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking experienced assemblers to build modular solar units according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and blueprints. You will work on a line with a team of 5 assemblers to construct the frame and structural components for each section of the unit, and then lock in the solar panel into each portion of the frame. The units fold up accordion style and will be strapped in for shipment. You will use a job crane to move the material and frame, and utilize hand tools, power tools, and air tools to assemble the units.

Responsibilities

+ Build modular solar units according to SOPs and blueprints.

+ Work on a line with a team of 5 assemblers.

+ Construct the frame and structural components for each section of the unit.

+ Lock in the solar panel into each portion of the frame.

+ Fold units accordion style and strap them in for shipment.

+ Use a job crane to move material and frame.

+ Utilize hand tools, power tools, and air tools for assembly.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years assembly experience.

+ 3+ years heavy assembly experience (assembling units, heavy packages, etc.).

+ Ability to read blueprints.

+ Proficient in using air tools and power tools.

+ Experience operating overhead cranes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in mechanical assembly.

+ Knowledge of torque tools and schematics.

+ Ability to work in an assembly line production environment.

Work Environment

Work in an open-aired environment with a requirement to wear steel-toe shoes and a long-sleeve shirt. The position is an 8-month contract until July, with a high likelihood of extension. The first shift runs from 7am-4pm, with potential early starts at 6am if needed. The second shift runs from 4pm-1:30am, with potential extended hours until 1am if needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Pasadena, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
