Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist
Job Description
As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible for taking a part from print to finished product independently. You will be provided with drawings and will need to set your own vices, select tooling/material, and download the correct program to run the part. Parts vary in size, ranging from 2 inches to 24 inches, primarily in stainless steel.
Responsibilities
+ Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
+ Collaborate with engineering to improve machining processes.
+ Perform full setups on machines, including changing jaws, touching off tools, and building off tools.
+ Troubleshoot machines and make necessary adjustments and offsets.
+ Conduct first piece inspections using CMM machines and gauging tools such as air gauges, height gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
+ Work with the autocrib system.
+ Manage 3 setups per week, operating 2 machines at a time.
Essential Skills
+ At least 5 years of CNC Machine Setup experience.
+ Experience with lathe setup, Mazak lathe, and troubleshooting.
+ Proficiency in CNC setup and changeovers.
+ Familiarity with Mazatrol/Siemens and Fanuc systems.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and utilize GD&T.
+ Experience with Mastercam, micrometers, and calipers.
+ Knowledge of geometric tolerances and machining speeds/feeds.
+ Competency in G&M codes programming.
+ Ability to multitask and operate more than one machine simultaneously.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Strong troubleshooting skills.
+ Experience with measuring and inspection tools.
+ Ability to indicate vises and fixtures.
+ Experience setting up lathes with three and four jaw chucks, tools, and attachments.

Work Environment
The work environment is a clean, organized shop floor with excellent lighting. You will work with modern machines, including 5 vertical milling centers and 5 turning centers ranging from 3 to 5 axes. The facility features futuristic robots and offers a smoke-free atmosphere with advanced ventilation systems.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
