    Job Title: Maintenance Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians across various levels (I-IV). As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform a variety of duties in the maintenance and operations of our facilities, with responsibilities increasing at each level. The roles require a combination of mechanical and electrical skills, with advanced technicians also needing fabrication and programming abilities.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform skilled work in the maintenance and repair of plant and buying point facilities and equipment.

    + Prioritize, schedule, assign, and coordinate the work of assigned staff.

    + Maintain tools and shop in a clean and sanitary condition.

    + Assist in the purchase, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring and fixtures.

    + Perform troubleshooting to repair or replace fans and motors, and perform repairs to motors, bells, clocks, and lighting circuits.

    + Test and replace circuits, troubleshoot and correct defective switches, receptacles, ballasts, and other wiring.

    + Operate various equipment and machines including saws, drill presses, and hand/power tools.

    + Ensure compliance with safety practices, procedures, and applicable codes and regulations.

    + Maintain records related to labor, materials, and work orders.

    + Operate trucks to pick up and deliver equipment and supplies.

    + Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Preventive Control Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.

    + Adhere to Company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use.

    + Assist in sanitary efforts to comply with GFSI guidelines and Customer Specifications.

    + Use Food Grade grease in areas exposed to food contact surfaces.

    + Inspect equipment and surroundings to ensure safe operations.

    + Assist in identifying sources of contamination.

    + Ensure compliance with Lock Out Tag Out, Confined Space, Working at Heights, Hot Work Permits, and At-Risk activity policies.

    + Execute and suggest improvements for the preventive maintenance program.

    + Experience working in a food manufacturing facility preferred

    + Good interpersonal and communication skills

    + Ability to work in extreme conditions including heat and cold

    + Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and nights

    Work Environment

     

    You will be working in a non-climate controlled plant. The role requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smithville, Georgia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
