Job Title: Material Handler - Loader

Job Description

We are seeking a Material Handler - Loader who will be primarily responsible for unloading and putting away loads of raw steel or subassemblies from other vendors. This role involves data entry of inventory into systems like Excel or SAP, quality checks of incoming parts, and ensuring proper paperwork is submitted for tracking purposes. The Material Handler will also assist with load-out procedures for completed products, perform inventory audits, and follow all company safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

+ Unload and put away loads of raw steel or subassemblies from vendors.

+ Enter inventory data into Excel or SAP.

+ Check incoming parts/components for quality defects and proper quantities.

+ Ensure proper paperwork is submitted to the Shipping Manager for tracking.

+ Assist with load-out procedures for completed products.

+ Perform inventory audits and cycle counts.

+ Follow all company safety rules and regulations.

+ Keep work area clean and organized.

+ Properly use and care for company tools.

+ Train and become certified in the use of forklifts, cranes, and other necessary machines.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in material handling, shipping, and receiving.

+ Proficiency in computer navigation and data entry.

+ Experience in yard loading and unloading of raw products.

+ Ability to operate forklifts and other machinery.

+ Basic mechanical ability.

+ Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience loading awkwardly shaped materials (steel, lumber, building materials).

+ Self-motivated and goal-oriented personality.

+ Ability to take direction from supervisors and make decisions independently.

+ Teamwork-oriented.

+ 2-5 years of practical application experience preferred.

+ 1 year of forklift experience with awkwardly shaped items, ideally in a metal shop.

+ Ability to be on feet for 10+ hour shifts.

+ Ability to move and bend under and around large equipment.

+ Experience with strapping down irregular shaped loads.

Work Environment

Agricultural manufacturer in a very new and clean facility. Work at your own pace but adhere to deadlines for assemblies. Hours are Monday to Thursday, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm, with overtime available on Fridays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
