    Job Description:

    $2,500 SIGN-ON BONUS! $250 paid at hire, $500 paid at 3/6/9 months, $750 paid after one year of employment.

     

    1st shift hours are M-F 6:00am to 2:30pm.** **Starting pay is $18.75/hour.

    Our mixing operators are responsible to set up and operate equipment to mix and grind materials to produce quality dispersions, inks and intermediates. Operators are also responsible for quality testing and approving ink for production.

    Essential Duties

    + Setup and operate a variety of high-speed mixers and mills (ball, horizontal, etc.).

    + Follow order/MRP to select equipment and materials (resin, pigment, wax, solvent, etc.) to be used, and select correct material quantities by weighing, measuring and/or metering.

    + Perform percent solids test of finished product using solids analyzer to ensure product meets specification, placing non-conforming product on QC hold.

    + Pull raw materials from storage locations and transport them to mix room manually and/or using material handling equipment such as a cart, 2-wheel dolly, and/or pallet jacket.

    + Use computer to enter production data and print labels.

    + Keep equipment and work area clean and in good repair. Notifies supervisor and/or maintenance when service is required. Wash drums using drum washer.

    + Strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations and work rules. Includes but not limited to rules/regulations regarding bonding and grounding, hazardous waste, and personal protective equipment.

    + Cross train to perform mix room operator duties for other teams/departments as identified.

    + Unload/transfer solvent from delivery trucks into appropriate storage tanks. Includes checking tank inventory, obtaining sample approval prior to unloading, connecting hoses/valves, and monitoring the transfer process.

    Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    + Prior applicable manufacturing experience preferred.

    + Basic computer/keyboarding experience preferred including data entry and lookups.

    + Ability to work overtime/flexible shift as business needs dictate

    + Physical requirements include constant standing/walking, use of upper extremities to handle/manipulate, and ability to visually identify product quality defects; frequent twisting/turning, stepping up/down, reaching outward/upward; lift/carry up to 45 lbs., and bending/squatting (specific machines).
