Compensation and Schedule for the PBX Operator
PBX Operator – Full-time, onsite, $19-$20 per hour, Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 6:00pm OR Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday 1:00pm to 9:30pm. Excellent opportunity to join a major hospital group!
Required Qualifications of the PBX Operator
- 1+ year of recent high-volume call center experience required
- 3+ years of recent high-volume call center experience preferred
- Hospital or healthcare experience preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Responsibilities of the PBX Operator
- Utilize computer-based telephony system for all call processing
- Accept incoming calls and direct them to proper departments with care and efficiency
- Place outbound and long-distance calls as needed
- Multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Follow process for private or no-info patients
- Communicate with organizational colleagues and leadership
- Remain calm and professional through each code
- Locate and follow established departmental and system processes for code handling and processing
- Log all codes
- Use digital and overhead paging technology
- Monitor PBX-based alarms or panels as appropriate
- Independently contact appropriate departments for troubleshooting of all equipment
- Open or submit tickets through both help desk and IT self service
- Access and submit maintenance work order requests
- Follow protocol for rebooting as needed
- Perform job duties in a friendly, professional, and responsible manner
- Follow all established policies and procedures
- Complete additional duties as assigned
