• Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball

    Overview: Quinnipiac University seeks an Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball to assist the Head Coach with program management including coaching, administration, coordination and recruitment of a collegiate Women’s Basketball program. This position will serve as the recruiting coordinator for the women’s basketball program and will also focus on the total development of the basketball student-athlete.

    Responsibilities:

    + Assist the Head Coach in managing and directing the basketball program

    + Assist with team planning, including training, coaching, competing and scheduling

    + Lead the Player Development Program for each student-athlete

    + Manage and coordinate all aspects of recruiting evaluations both domestically and internationally

    + Maintain adherence and compliance with NCAA rules and regulations and university policies

    + Other duties, as assigned

    Education Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree required

    + Experience may substitute for some of the above education

    Qualifications:

    + Preference will be given to candidates with previous successful Women’s basketball playing and/or coaching experience at the college level

    + Experience in recruiting is strongly preferred

    + Experience with the administration and coordination of a collegiate Women’s basketball program which focuses on the total development of the basketball student-athlete is preferred

    + Proven aptitude for coaching as illustrated by a strong work ethic, organizational skills, computer skills, and the ability to interact professionally within the department, the campus, and the national basketball community

    + Ability to manage a 2-3 hour practice

    + Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

    + Ability to work nights and weekends

    + Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds
