Wilmer Eye Institute is seeking applications for a highly qualified, full-time, fellowship-trained cornea and external disease specialist, with a concentration in ocular surface disease and ocular immunology to join the Wilmer Cornea Service with joint appointment in the Division of Ocular Immunology which provides individualized care for patients suffering from ocular surface disorders and complex immune mediated corneal conditions and is focused on basic, clinical, and translational research. This position requires excellent clinical and surgical skills (specifically in high-risk corneal grafts, limbal stem transplants, keratoprosthesis etc.), dedication to academic medicine, and commitment to teamwork and professional growth. Primary clinical activity will occur at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore with potential for some clinical effort at one of the Wilmer Eye Institute practice locations. The candidate will also be a faculty in the Department of Ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and will engage in teaching of fellows and ophthalmology residents in addition to research activities.
* The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Department of Ophthalmology faculty compensation program or pay from participation in the Department of Ophthalmology incentive compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department.
Candidates must have successfully completed an ACGME accredited ophthalmology residency training program and/or be certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology or be board eligible. Applicants must have completed a fellowship in cornea and external disease . Training in ocular immunology and post-fellowship work experience preferred. Faculty rank will be determined by experience and credentials.
Salary: Dependent upon rank, Instructor $135,000 - $155,000, Assistant Professor $145,000 - $168,000, Associate Professor $170,000 - $212,000, Professor $195,000 - $340,000*
