    DSM North America, Inc. seeks an Associate Manager GOE Environmental Improve Projects for its Belvidere, New Jersey location.

     

    Duties: Support development and execution of the Greenhouse Gas reduction and other environmental roadmaps including water, waste and wastewater, for Belvidere manufacturing site, as well as other sites in North America and Brazil. Define and execute feasibility studies and prepare preliminary designs, cost estimates and timelines to cover a range of processes and technologies and support execution success; Support relevant site functions including Operations, Improve Plant, Maintenance to identify energy, Greenhouse Gas and other environmental improvements; Build competences and knowledge on best available technologies across Business Units and sites; Help to create awareness and an engaged culture on Greenhouse Gas emission reduction in the region, including through the development and dissemination of Best Practices and standards; Support Sustainable Operations standard implementation while respecting Safety Health and Environment & Security, Sustainability and Operations requirements; Engage with stakeholders and external partners, Business Units, Sites regarding Greenhouse Gas reduction and other environmental roadmaps; Communicate to stakeholders on overall program development and alignment, to site management teams on regional program alignment, and to process engineers and other subject matter experts on project generation.

     

    Requirements: Requires a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering or a closely related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a Chemical, Process or Biotechnology Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Manager or a related role, assessing industrial operations for nutritional or food products. At least three (3) years of experience must include: (1) Knowledge of the environmental impact in operations, associated reporting and KPIs: Green House Gas, Energy, air emissions (e.g. VOC), effluent and waste and how they apply to utilities and processes; (2) Data analyses supporting environmental impact reduction, including realizing energy and mass balances; (3) Knowledge of key technologies enabling utilities energy and Green House Gas reduction including heat integration, heat pumps, efficient utilities such as for compressed air, cooling; (4) Environmental optimization of key processes used in Nutrition sector including fermentation, spray drying technologies, sterilization techniques; (5) Sustainable product development and formulae rationalization; (6) Interface with R&D/asset technology to prove new concept and technologies and bring it to production environment. Requires 30% international and domestic travel. Salary: $160,889.00/yr; 40 hours/week. Direct applicants only.
