    Job Description:

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Biomedical Equipment Technician I highly technical position that serves our patients through creative, high quality, biomedical equipment support and technical assistance for clinical associates in a professional, timely and cost effective manner. This individual is required to have a high level of specialized technical ability in problem solving, use of test equipment and service documentation to maintain a wide variety of equipment types used for patient diagnostics and treatment, clinical laboratory, radiology, surgery and other medical and support departments.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION

    _For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._

     

    **Minimum Required:** Associate of Applied Sciences Degree, **or** certificate of equivalent Military/Technical education, in Biomedical Engineering/Equipment Technology **or** Associates of Applied Sciences Degree, equivalent Military/Technical education, in Electronics Engineering/Equipment Technology.

    **Preferred/Optional:** Associate of Applied Sciences Degree, **or** certificate of equivalent Military/Technical education, in Biomedical Engineering/Equipment Technology.

    EXPERIENCE

    **Minimum Required:** Biomedical Engineering/Equipment Technology internship or equivalent internship experience. Ability to work independently and as team member with other staff with minimal supervision and under high stress situations.

    **Preferred/Optional:** None

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

    _The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position._

     

    **Minimum Required:** Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency. Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to MCHS's insurer.

    **Preferred/Optional:** AAMI Credentials Institute (AMI), Certified Biomedical Electronics Technician (CBET), Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES), or Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) certification.
