Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Diagnostic Equipment Specialist I will serve our patients through creative, high quality, biomedical equipment support and technical assistance in a timely and cost effective manner. This individual requires a high level of specialized technical ability in problem solving, use of test equipment and service documentation to maintain biomedical equipment associated with high end contracts along with general Biomed equipment. The Diagnostic Equipment Specialist l will work on Diagnostic Imagining modalities such as: Computer Tomography systems (CT), Nuclear Imaging, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Vascular and Catheter Radiology Labs, General X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound Units and others as described.
This position requires an on-call rotation.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
_For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._
**Minimum Required:** Associate of Applied Sciences Degree in Biomedical Engineering/Equipment Technology or certificate of equivalent Military/Technical education or Associates of Applied Sciences Degree in Electronics Engineering/Equipment Technology.
**Preferred/Optional:** None
EXPERIENCE
**Minimum Required:** None
**Preferred/Optional:** Two years of experience servicing medical equipment in a clinical setting.
Two years of experience servicing multiple modalities of Diagnostic Medical Equipment.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
_The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position._
**Minimum Required:** Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency. Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to MCHS's insurer.
**Preferred/Optional:** AAMI Credentials Institute (AMI), Certified Biomedical Electronics Technician (CBET), Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES), or Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) certification.
