APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY - $39,421.44 to $56,689.20 PAY GRADE: 23

Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation of the State's natural resources.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2024-007, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL JUNE 30TH, 2025.
This seasonal position is in the wildlife health program within the Game Division at Nevada Department of Wildlife. The incumbent will be working on a project investigating seasonal elk mortality syndrome and limitations of elk expansion in certain units in Nevada. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school and one year of experience in resource conservation projects or wildlife management projects such as assisting with creel census, surveys, identifying fish and wildlife species, vegetation management or similar work; OR six months of experience as a Conservation Aid II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Notes
Work may be performed under adverse weather conditions and include extensive walking under difficult conditions, camping in remote, primitive locations.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
