Under the general direction of the Corporate Director, HIMS the Corporate Manager, Coding is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, staffing and controlling of all record processing functions of HIMS to include coding at MVH, GSH, and AMC, and EMPI for PHP. All work is carried out in accordance with the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of the Healthcare Organizations and Health Information Management Services approved policies and procedures. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring productivity, establishing standards, and generally maintaining managerial responsibility for these functional areas of the HIMS department. This individual is responsible for overseeing these work areas as well as the performance evaluations for these employees and maintaining budget for these cost centers. This Corporate Manager position will assume full responsibility for management of these areas of the department in the Director's absence.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required in Health Information Management or related field.
Certification: RHIA or RHIT
Experience: A minimum of 8 years of management experience in an HIM department is required.
Skills/Other: Good interpersonal skill and communication skills are essential. Strong organizational skills Effective oral and written communication Must display self-control, tact, sound judgment, diplomacy, and flexibility.
