    Quality Inspector II - 2nd shift

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Quality Inspector II is responsible for performing more advanced quality inspections and supporting the development and implementation of inspection protocols for Aerospace and Defense parts. This role involves verifying product conformance to specifications, reviewing documentation, and leading investigations of non-conformances or defects. The Quality Inspector II works closely with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure product quality and continuous improvement. This position requires a deeper understanding of quality systems, regulatory standards, and problem-solving abilities to address issues as they arise.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Perform comprehensive inspections of incoming materials, in-process products, and final assemblies for conformance to specifications;

    + Maintain a positive and professional presence while representing quality assurance with production teams;

    + Verify conformance to specifications using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges;

    + Document inspection results and any defects / non-conformances detected;

    + Read and interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints;

    + Follow company procedures to perform routine quality checks;

    + Create and maintain inspection records and files for traceability and compliance;

    + Ensure that inspection equipment is calibrated and properly maintained before use;

    + Assist with the identification of non-conforming products and initiate corrective actions under supervision;

    + Work with production teams to identify potential areas for improvement and support quality improvement initiatives;

    + Conduct first piece inspections for quality and appearance in a timely and organized fashioned;

    KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

    + Advanced proficiency in measuring instruments and inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects;

    + Good communication skills to document and report inspection results;

    + Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

    + Ability to follow instructions and company procedures;

    + Average skill in Microsoft Office, entering data accurately and repeatably in Excel;

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

    + High school diploma or GED;

    + 2-4 years of experience in an inspection role, preferably in Aerospace and Defense manufacturing;

    + Strong math skills to work with fractions and decimals in the imperial and metric measurement systems;

    + Previous experience in an Aerospace and Defense manufacturing or assembly environment is a plus, but not required;

    WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    + Workers situated in an office environment could routinely use standard office equipment which may include computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines;

    + Workers exposed to the production floor could be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration, and moderate to loud noise conditions;

    + Well lighted, heated/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation;

    + Ability to meet safety, regulatory and health guidelines without assistance;

    + Ability to maneuver throughout the facility/facilities as needed;

    + Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);

    + Ability to perform repetitive work;

    + Standing; walking; manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers;

    + Ability to bend and kneel, loading and unloading work pieces into the machine or moving from one workstation to another; must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds;

    + Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus;
