About the Role
You will be a Senior Editor with The Lancet family of journals in North America. Working closely with the North American Executive Editor. The Senior Editor role is a hybrid based out of the New York office.
Responsibilities
+ Liaising with the Lancet specialty journals to help communicate content and promoting special projects in the US.
+ Conducting peer reviews, clinical trials and acquisitions, negotiate revisions.
+ Evaluating papers, team presentations, peer reviews for those with the highest potential clinical impact and participate in team decision making.
+ Promoting special projects (e.g., Series, Commissions, etc.) in the US. In addition, to managing the Preprints with The Lancet in partnership with the SSRN team.
+ Contributing to the commissioning of Comments, Perspectives, Seminars, Reviews, and Clinical, Global Health, and other Series and Commissions.
+ Reviewing editorial writing and outreach and working with other Lancet branded programs.
Requirements
+ Have a PH.D in an area relevant to health or an M.D.
+ Able to think critically about a wide range of scientific and health-related issues.
+ Display exceptional oral and written communication skills.
+ Have interest in engaging with the scientific, clinical health and public health communities.
+ Have talent for distilling complex concepts and communicating them.
+ Able to work well in diverse team settings.
+ Have excellent time management and organizational skills.
+ Able to work in office 1-2 times per month.

The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for NYC:$80,800.00 - $134,700.00
