Description
We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in Bakersfield, California. This long-term position requires an individual with strong attention to detail to oversee payroll processing and benefits administration for both salaried and hourly employees. Proficiency in English and Spanish is essential to effectively communicate within our multicultural environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Update and maintain payroll records to reflect changes in tax withholdings, benefits, addresses, and employee status.
• Calculate overtime, holiday pay, deductions, and other payroll-related allowances.
• Prepare financial documents, such as income statements and tax returns, as needed.
• Assist in payroll audits by verifying and providing accurate data.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations and benefit administration standards.
• Address employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
• Handle administrative tasks related to benefits, including enrollments, terminations, and employee communications.
• Maintain and manage the organization’s payroll system, ensuring accurate record-keeping and file management.
• Adapt to and utilize payroll software and tools effectively.
Requirements • At least 3 years of experience managing full-cycle payroll processes.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid understanding of payroll and benefits regulations, including compliance requirements.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in payroll software systems, such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, or similar tools.
• Strong numerical skills with the ability to identify and correct errors.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
