St. Mary’s Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Rheumatologist to establish and lead our new rheumatology practice. This is a unique opportunity to build a practice from the ground up and address a significant unmet need within the community. You will provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient rheumatologic care, working closely with primary care and specialty providers to ensure coordinated treatment for patients with complex autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.

Responsibilities:
+ Establish and lead a new rheumatology practice within St. Mary’s Healthcare.
+ Diagnose and treat a wide range of rheumatic diseases and conditions, including arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and musculoskeletal disorders.
+ Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
+ Provide patient education and counseling, ensuring patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options.
+ Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols.
+ Stay current with emerging treatments and advancements in rheumatology.
+ Engage in community outreach and education programs to promote musculoskeletal health.
Qualifications:
Required Credentials - Board Certified/Board Eligible Rheumatologist licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of New York
Preferred Experience - Experience in establishing a new practice or program development is advantageous but not required.
Education - Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution
Skills - Strong clinical, diagnostic, and patient-centered communication skills
Compensation & Benefits:
+ Base Salary Range - $214,910 - $311,402 (commensurate with experience).
+ Competitive compensation package, including base salary + sign-on bonus and semiannual bonuses for productivity.

+ Retirement plans with employer contributions
+ Relocation assistance and annual CME allowance of $4,000 and 40 hours.
+ Potential eligibility for loan repayment programs due to our HPSA designation

This role requires advanced clinical expertise, critical thinking, and the ability to manage a diverse rheumatology patient population with complex medical needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, empathy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered rheumatologic care.

Adherence to Standard Precautions and utilization of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) are mandatory to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.
