Job Summary and Qualifications

+ The Unit Manager will be in charge of the daily operations in providing care to medical/surgical/telemetry patients.

+ Manages the provision of adequate and competent staffing.

+ Addresses issues that affect desired patient outcomes.

+ Ensures departmental compliance with regulatory and The Joint Commission requirements.

+ Monitors and adheres to annual hospital operating budget.

+ Implements cost-effective strategies in staffing and supply management decision.

+ Assists staff in providing patient care and services as needed.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

+ Graduate of a Nursing Program from an accredited school; BSN required.

+ Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Louisiana.

+ CPR for Healthcare Providers to be completed within 30 days of hire.

+ ACLS to be completed within 180 days of hire.

EXPERIENCE:

+ At least 5 years of experience as a RN in Med/Surg/Tele.

+ 2 years of leadership experience such as Charge Nurse, House Supervisor, etc.
