Job Summary and Qualifications

Radiation Safety Officer

Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) on a full-time basis. As a Radiation Safety Officer at HCA Florida, you will ensure that all activities involving radioactive materials and equipment capable of producing radiation are performed safely and in accordance with approved policies. **Your tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to** :

+ Implementation of the Radiation Safety Program

+ Maintain compliance with the facility’s Radioactive Materials License and applicable Department of Health Control of Radiation Hazard

+ Monitoring adherence to regulations, including but not limited to the definition of 64E-5.605

+ Authorized by senior management to stop a procedure if, in the RSO’s judgment, that operation is unsafe or in violation of policies

+ Assure compliance with the facilities policies and State and Federal regulations

+ Report directly to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging

+ Have authority over any department/department director that utilizes ionizing emitting equipment for the purposes of safe practices

Qualifications

+ Associate Degree

+ State of Florida Department of Health license required

+ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

+ 3-5 years of experience as a Radiologist with at least 1 year as a Radiology Technologist

+ ARRT (N) and/or NMTCB credential(s)
