    Job Overview:

    Perform adult and pediatric echocardiographic studies including M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, Color Flow Imaging, and Transesophageal Echocardiograms. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    + Graduate from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology

    + ARDMS or CCI certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire

    + Must be board eligible at time of hire

    + BLS through the American Heart Association

    + Successful completion of all Orientation Programs

    Scheduling Requirements:

    + Day Shift

    + Per Diem

    + Scheduling will vary based on the needs of the department

    + Weekend availability required

    Essential Functions:

    + Performs echocardiograms with Doppler, color flow analysis, and strain to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease

    + Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to determine each patient's age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment

    + Assists the nurse and physician in the performance of transesophageal echocardiograms

    + Administers Definity when necessary to obtain high-quality images

    + Performs echocardiograms on both hospital patients and outpatients, which includes offsite locations in the area
