We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join Sonatech, LLC in Santa Barbara California.

Job Description

This position is an opportunity to shape new products from scratch and improve existing ones. The candidate will work closely with customers to develop system concepts, technical requirements, and product specifications. Following, the candidate will lead the technical team throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

+ Manage all technical aspects of projects.

+ Generation of technical requirements and specifications, requirement management, compliance traceability and verification.

+ Architecture development, interface definition, system modelling, algorithm development, data analysis, and trade studies.

+ Provide technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle.

+ Progress reporting to management and customer representatives.

+ Support to systems integration and customer trial activities.

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

+ Minimum combined 10 years as an electrical engineer, systems engineer or line manager

+ Excellent systems/architecture development skills

+ Experience guiding products through the full development lifecycle and field trials

+ Excellent cross-functional team leadership

+ Excellent communications skills

+ US Citizenship required and ability to obtain a DoD secret security clearance

+ Work onsite. Remote work is not acceptable for this position.

Preferred Skills

+ Experience with underwater acoustic positioning systems for tracking and navigation

+ Understanding of underwater acoustic principles

+ Understanding of electronic systems with embedded SW applications

+ Experience in developing computer-based performance models in MATLAB to support system concept/design definition.

+ Strong oral and written communications skills including presenting to customers and senior leadership
