LOCATION OF POSITION:Monroe One BOCES - 41 O'Connor Road, Fairport NY 14450;Creekside School
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:10-Month, Full-Time; Probationary
STARTING DATE: September 2025
SALARY RANGE: $48,500 - $78,642
*Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.
DUTIES:
1. Engage in learning, discussion, and support of implementation of the necessary components of reading science.
2. Continue to grow and learn about reading science.
3. Develop/Support a RTI process.
4. Look at data and make curricular and program recommendations.
5. Share what was/has been learned in LETRS with others in their PLCs, grade levels, and via after or in school professional development sessions.
6. Invite teachers into classroom to observe strategies or model strategies for teachers.
7. Support classroom instruction in literacy.
8. Organize, maintain, and provide training on intervention kits/resources.
9. Identify, research, potentially pilot instructional resources to support literacy instruction.
10. Develop and oversee comprehensive reading data collection, review, and planning efforts.
11. Participate in ELA PLCs- develop Action Plans, review SMART goals.
12. Collaboratively review and analyze data and make curricular and program recommendations.
13. Design and implement PD related to reading science.
14. Assist with benchmarking, writing reports and data collection for new students, students that are transitioning into/out of Reading Services/transitioning to a new program.
15. Assist in finding new/research based/current ELA curriculum and materials in collaboration with building principal and office of curriculum, instruction, and professional development.
16. Develop a meaningful way of presenting ELA data to drive student IEP goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Three to five years teaching experience (minimum), professional/permanent certification required.
2. Reading/Literacy Certification required.
3. Demonstrated leadership qualities.
4. Proven expertise in engaging students in effective learning.
5. LETRS trained or willingness to participate in the training.
6. Interest in developing literacy-based instructional strategies: content area reading, intensive writing across the curriculum for different purposes, analyzing student work to inform instruction, strategies based in reading science and around complex text.
7. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
